Global Schools Action Day helps spread awareness about how we can look after our planet.
You can take part in lots of FUN activities which encourage children to learn about and protect the Earth.

Why is Global Schools Action Day Important?
Why do YOU think Global Schools Action Day is Important?
Is learning about the planet important?

Due to human actions the Earth's global temperature is warming, meaning that our weather patterns and ecosystems are changing. Many animal species and human communities are finding it hard to adapt to these changes.
It’s so important that we all work together and fight climate change.
Global Schools Action Day can educate more children about helping the planet.

Did you know…
The Earth's average temperature has increased by nearly 1.5°F in the past hundred years.
Even though it doesn't sound like much, these temperature increases have caused melting glaciers, drought and many more devastating effects.

The planet needs our help!
We need to work together to raise awareness about climate change.
We need to learn how to be more sustainable at home and at school.
Global Schools Action Day helps more children be part of the solution. We want and need a healthy and happy planet.

Learn about Show Your Stripes!
This series of vertical colours shows the gradual heating of our planet over the last 100 years. They are called the climate stripes and were created by Professor Ed Hawkins at the University of Reading.
Look at your local stripes at the Show Your Stripes website!

Show Your Stipes
The stripes show that global average temperatures are rising. Each stripe shows the average temperature over a year.
Blue shades are for cooler average temperatures and red shades warmer average temperatures.

Show YOUR stripes!
Can you and your friends ALL wear stripes and show how global temperature rise? Take photos of your school taking part in this challenge!
