Global Goal 4 Quality Education

Michelle Parkes ·

Let's talk about Global Goal 4 - Quality Education!

This goal is exciting because it's all about making sure that everyone has access to good education, no matter where they come from or how much money they have.

Think about it - education is what helps us learn all sorts of awesome things about the world, from science and history to music and art. It helps us grow, develop, and become the best version of ourselves.

One of the things that Global Goal 4 is focused on is making sure that all girls and boys get a chance to go to school and complete their education. Unfortunately, in some parts of the world, girls are still not given the same opportunities as boys, and they are often expected to drop out of school early to get married or take care of their families. But by ensuring that girls have access to education, we can empower them to become leaders and change-makers in their communities.

Another important aspect of Quality Education is making sure that education is inclusive and accessible to everyone. This means removing barriers to education for vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities and indigenous peoples. By ensuring that everyone has access to education, we can build more inclusive and equitable societies.

Ultimately, achieving Goal Goal 4 is essential for building a better future for everyone. Education is the foundation for sustainable development, and by investing in education, we can create a more prosperous, peaceful, and just world.

What progress has been made so far with Global Goal 4?

According to the United Nations, the number of kids who aren't in school has dropped from 100 million to 59 million between 2000 and 2018. That's a lot of kids getting access to a good education! And even better, more and more countries are investing in education. In fact, 65 developing countries have increased their education budgets since 2015.

There's more! The Global Partnership for Education, which is an organisation that works to improve education around the world, helped raise over $4 billion in funding for education projects in developing countries in 2021. That's a lot of money going towards helping people learn and grow!

Thanks to the hard work of people all over the planet, we're making strides towards ensuring that everyone has access to quality education. And who knows, maybe someday we'll live in a world where everyone can read, write, and explore all the amazing things this world has to offer. Now, that's something to get excited about!

How can kids help with Global Goal 4?

  1. Learn about the importance of education: Kids can read books, watch documentaries, or talk to adults to learn about the importance of education and how it can help people and communities.
  2. Encourage others to go to school: Kids can encourage their friends and family members to go to school and take their studies seriously.
  3. Practice good study habits: Kids can practice good study habits themselves by doing their homework, studying for tests, and asking questions in class. Want to bring Global Goal 4 into your classroom? Check out our teaching resources!
