The Colourful Coral Reef

Learn about what coral reef is!

The Colourful Coral Reef

What is a Coral Reef?

It looks like little plants and rocks but it’s actually a group of teeny tiny animals! They are called POLYPS!

Coral Reef

Reefs begin when a polyp attaches itself to a rock on the seafloor.

The polyps connect with other polyps and grow to form the beautiful and colourful reef.

Corals look like beautiful sea flowers but they have teeny little mouths and tentacles with stingers to freeze their prey.

Amazing!
