Where's my Food?

Understand where food comes from and how climate change impacts food production.

Lesson steps

Place lots of different food items in front of the class.

Ask children, do you know how this food gets to you? How does it get to the supermarket? What countries do the food items come from? How many are produced in the UK?

Explain that Zero Hunger is one of the UN’s Global Goals. Ask the children, what do you think Zero Hunger means?

Zero hunger means creating a world that is free from hunger, so everyone, no matter where they live, can eat and afford to eat.

Discuss why is food important? Explain that we need it to live and survive and we need food with the right nutrients to do that.

Present and talk about some of the statements from children in the I'm Hungry presentation.
