How to Be a Great Friend: 3 Fun & Silly Ways to Show Kindness
Michelle Parkes ·
Being kind doesn’t have to be boring or serious. Nope! Kindness can be funny, fizzy, and full of giggles. Being a good friend means doing little things that make someone smile—and we’ve got three easy (and silly) ways you can do just that!
1. Give Them a Compliment… the Funny Way!
Sure, you could say, “You’re nice” or “You’re cool,” but what if you said, “You’re as awesome as a banana wearing sunglasses!” or “You make me laugh more than a ticklish hippo!”
A silly compliment is like a surprise tickle for the brain. Try making up a wacky one and giving it to your friend today.
2. Share Your Stuff
Got two biscuits? Give one to your buddy. Got a sparkly sticker? Let your friend choose first. Sharing doesn’t mean giving away everything, it just means showing you care.
3. Write a Secret Note
Sneaky kindness is the best kind! Try writing a secret note to your friend that says something kind like: “You’re brilliant at climbing!” or “I’m glad we’re friends”
Pop it in their bag, under their pencil case, or in their lunchbox. When they find it, they’ll feel like the happiest treasure-hunter in the world.
Kindness isn’t about being perfect. It’s about trying to make someone’s day better, whether you do it with a joke, a biscuit, or a big squishy hug.
So go on, do one (or all three!) of these kind things today. Your friends will love it—and you’ll feel pretty fantastic too.
